EDDY CURRENT SENSOR – SUSPENDED TYPE for POWDER THICKNESS CONTROL


Mould powder thickness has a direct impact on lubrication and heat transfer in the continuous casting mould, which represent crucial factors for steel quality of the cast products. The ability to keep a constant powder thickness is therefore a key requirement to produce high-quality steel. ECS-POWDER system is composed of a suspended sensor, which uses the eddy current technology, in association with radioactive level measurement to indirectly measure the powder thickness. This system, when associated with Ergolines MPF (Mould Powder Feeder) is one of the solution for automatic powder thickness control for large size.
