MOULD OSCILLATOR CHECKER
Mould oscillation is crucial in continuous casting since it has a direct impact on steel quality. The oscillation profile, stroke and frequency have an important influence on oscillation marks, mould lubrication, heat transfer, mould friction and surface quality. The ability to monitor the oscillation parameters is therefore crucial to improve the steel quality, while reducing breakout risk and maintenance costs.
The OPI system is designed to monitor mould oscillation parameters, providing accurate 3D measurements of the spatial trajectory of the mould. The OPI system provides early detection of oscillation anomalies and deviations form settings which may occur in the long-term. Based on the OPI data, the operator can adjust and fine-tune the oscillation parameters, leading to improved steel quality and effective maintenance of the oscillation table.
